| Many thanks to all the members of Orindawoods for their support of the Orindawoods Senior Championships. We know that it is not easy to give up the courts for a week, and we greatly appreciate your sacrifice and support. The tournament went very well, with our own Jack Frankel making it to the finals of the Men's 80s. Don Faries, Ernie Winslow and Clay Sealy also participated in this very high level open event. Players from all over NorCal come to play at Orindawoods. These players report that this is one of best events on the senior tour, if not the best. And of course, we have the best courts around. We can all be proud of our tournament. Many thanks to Dave Moss, our referee and all the other people that helped out. Deserving special recognition are Tamar McCollom, Michael McCollom, Ida & Ted Yim, Nancy Moss, Anne Foss and Anya Kaiser. Yumiko Suzuki and Gwen Bennett volunteered time as Roving Umpires. Our next big events at the Club are: 6/3 Twilight Tennis, tennis 5pm, BBQ 7pm 6/20 Monday Team Tennis Begins, every Monday night 6-9pm through Aug 15. 6/25 Ace It! Our Breast Cancer Awareness event, featuring clinics, lunch and a tournament You can sign up for these events on line, at www.orindawoodstennis.com, or by calling the Pro Shop. The Spring Junior Program begins this week, (4/5) and runs through the end of the school year. The summer Junior Program starts the week of June 13. Thanks again, Keith |
