Indian Wells & Orindawoods News
Hi everyone,

We are all back from a great time at the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells. It was a wonderful experience seeing all the great players in the world on stage at one of the six best tournaments of the entire year, and practically in our own back yard. I learned a lot, especially doubles strategy (the game just keeps evolving) that I will be sharing with everyone in newsletters and in my lessons over the next several months. I was once told, "If you are not getting better, you are getting worse." Here at Orindawoods, we have decided to take the "getting better" option, so we hope you join us for a great ride.

Before I go any further, CONGRATULATIONS to our Senior (these women must be fake IDs) Women's 3.5 team, that today won their league playoff and are going on to Districts. It all came down to a deciding third set of the final match, but our team spare us the nail-biting drama and won with a resounding 6-0! A much deserved "well done" to everyone on this fun team.

The Orindawoods Senior Championships is coming up, March 27 - April 2. Please remember that during this week, the courts at the Club will be used by the tournament. There will probably be some open court time for members, but there will be no day time reservations. Feel free to call the Club and ask me if there is a time you might be able to play.

Our very successful Junior Program finishes up its winter session this week, takes a one week break and starts up the spring session on April 3. For more information, visit the website, www.orindawoodstennis.com or call Patric at the Club. Juniors, be on the alert for a very fun Junior Team Tennis season coming up April 22-May 13. Call Patric for more details.

Ball Machine Club enthusiasts, it is time to sign up again for 2006 (if you haven't already). Remember that a mere $100 gets you a year's unlimited use of the machine when it is available. Please keep in mind that there is no ball machine use during Prime Time (8:30-11, weekdays, 9-12 noon weekends and all evenings). If you have never used the machine before, and want to join the fun and get better at the same time, talk to Patric or I, and we will be happy to get you going.

As I am sure you can tell, the Club is doing very well these days. Congratulations to you all for being on our "winning team" here at Orindawoods. There is more activity at the Club, and we have more members than ever before. We are constantly monitoring all this activity, to make sure that our resources are shared as fairly and equally as possible. We would be happy to hear any comments or suggestions that you might have.

Please be friendly and courtious with your friends, fellow members and neighbors. If we all keep the spirit that we are sharing this great facility, we will all be a lot happier.

A great way to keep yourself sane in terms of trying to get on a court is to take a look at the Club's calendar on the website, and see when there are events and matches at the Club. If you want to play during those times, it is highly recomended that you get a reservation. In terms of open play, the busiest times of the week continue to be Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings.

Finally, we met today with the owners of the Club, and I can tell you that the Club is doing very well, and is highly regarded. Hopefully we will get in a few days of sun here, it has been raining all together too much.

Be well,

Keith
